6月27日のGoogle I/Oで発表されたソーシャルストリーミングメディアプレイヤー「Nexus Q」について、Googleが発売を無期限延期とすることを発表した。事前予約者には、Google I/Oで配布された「プレビュー版Nexus Q」を無償で提供することも併せて発表されている。
GoogleはNexus Qの事前予約者に対して、文末に掲載したメールを送付している。
Googleによると、Google I/Oで配布されたプレビュー版Nexus Qの利用者より、製品改良に関する多数のフィードバックがあり、これに対する対応を行うことを決めたため、（とりあえず）発売の無期限延期を決めたという。
また、既に予約をしているユーザーにも、製品改良のためのフィードバックを期待して、プレビュー版Nexus Qを無償で送付するとのこと。
Nexus Qについては、発表後からコンセプトやデザインについては一定の評価を得ていたが、使い勝手の悪さや限定されすぎたサービスなどに対する批判の声も多く上がっていた。
今回は発売延期となってしまったが、再び発表されるときには、素晴らしいサービスを提供してくれる端末になっていること（と手頃な価格になっていること）を期待したい。
